MOYO

Visual artist and creator of Quantum Art in Usaquen.
Moyo has developed a pictorial practice that expands the traditional boundaries of painting through the use of new technologies, materials, and light. From Usaquen, his work has given shape to Quantum Art: an immersive visual language in which the artwork transforms before the viewer, bringing together interaction, depth, movement, and multisensory experience within a single artistic form.

Moyo, the artistic name of Gonzalo Ruiz Gomez, is a Colombian visual artist whose practice has centered on the evolution of painting as an expanded experience. Since 2015, he has pursued an ongoing line of research into the use of new technologies, materials, and lighting systems, giving rise to the proposal he has defined as Quantum Art. In this body of work, the artwork is no longer a static object, but a perceptual device: his paintings respond to black light, RGB LED lighting, and 3D glasses, allowing viewers to discover new volumes, depths, and sensations of movement in real time.
More than a technical exploration, his work advances a broader artistic proposition: to evolve the language of painting and shift traditional exhibition spaces toward immersive, multisensory experiences. This search has led him to build a sustained trajectory through solo and group exhibitions in Colombia and in international circuits such as Miami, New York, Tokyo, and Paris, while also opening a field of experimentation between painting, technological innovation, and digital culture. In Memoria Viva Usaquen, Moyo represents a defining dimension of local contemporary art: that of a creator who has made the district not only his place of life, but also the territory from which he projects a new possibility for Colombian painting.
